Appear More Alert With an Eye lift
Eye lift surgery also known as Blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes excess skin, muscle, and fat from the eye to give a more youthful and alert appearance.

As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken, making your eyelids droop down. Besides making you look older, sagging skin around your eyes can reduce your peripheral vision. Eye lift surgery can reduce or eliminate these vision problems and make your eyes appear younger and more alert.
Why Eye Lift Surgery?
Your eyelids are typically unnoticed, as they are completely out of your way for most of your life. Though, as you age your eyelids start to droop down and sag, and in some cases even impair vision! With eye lift surgery the excess fat, skin, and tissue on the eyelid is completely removed. Eye lift surgery gives you your vision and confidence back.
What happens during eye lift surgery?
If you have surgery on your upper and lower eyelids, the surgeon generally works on your upper lids first. He or she cuts along the fold of the eyelid, removes excess skin, muscle, fat, and then closes the cut.
If your upper eyelid droops down close to your pupil, an additional procedure is done that provides additional support to the eyebrow muscle.

Should I Get an Eye Lift?
Eye lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. During eye lift surgery an incision is made that traces the natural fold of the upper lid and extends a little beyond the outside corner. The sagging skin is separated from the fatty tissue and muscle underneath and removed. A small amount of fat pads are also removed for those with puffy upper eyelids. Excess fat from the lower eyelid can be removed through an incision made inside the lower lid. For those with excess skin in the lower eyelid, the incision is made along the natural crease of the skin right below the eye. Following eye lift surgery you may experience mild discomfort, bruising and swelling.
After the eye lift procedure Dr. Durgin will give you oral medication and cold compresses to ease the discomfort and control the swelling. Avoid heavy lifting or vigorous activities for 4-6 weeks after eye lift surgery. Your sutures are usually removed within 3-10 days. Once sutures are removed and the swelling and bruising decreases, you will begin to see results.
